Twitch App is now available on PS4 in the UK

The Twitch App is now available on PS4 for everyone in the UK, five months after the App was first made available to those in North America. As a result of Twitch’s dedicated App, UK users can now enjoy the same content and interaction US users have been enjoying for the past few months.

The Twitch App was announced to be coming to the PlayStation 4 back in September 2015 at TwitchCon, having previously been exclusive to the Xbox One. Unlike normal Twitch streaming on the PS4, the Twitch App allows users to watch live broadcasts from any channel on the website, meaning that PS4 users are no longer restricted to just watching other PS4 streams on their console. With the App, you will get the full Twitch experience and be able to watch, follow, or interact with any broadcaster or game live on Twitch.

For some reason, which still hasn’t been revealed, the Twitch App released in October for those in North America but not in the UK. However the App is now available in the UK having appeared on the PlayStation Store out of the blue this morning. You can grab it now from the Apps section of the PlayStation Store. The download is a small one, coming in at just 56mb.

The Twitch App should also be coming to PS3 and PSVita owners later this year.
