60 Million Copies of GTA V have now been shipped

Since GTA V launched back in September 2013, the game has shipped over 60 million copies on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, Take-Two Interactive has announced during its earnings call.

That means that 60 million units have been shipped to retailers since 2013, however no figures have been revealed showing exactly how many of those units have been sold onto consumers.

Grand Theft Auto V released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013 and sold over 11 million units worldwide within the first 24 hours of the games release, generating over $800 million on day one. GTA V also became the fastest selling game ever in the UK with 1.57 million units being sold in the first 24 hours.

However sales of Grand Theft Auto V continued to increase following the re-release of the game onto the next-generation of consoles and by December 2014, over 10 million copies had been shipped for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. GTA V wasn’t done there though with breaking records following the game’s release on PC in April 2015 which saw it become Steam’s best selling game of the year by selling over 3.5 million units on the platform.

Back in July 2015, Take-Two revealed that GTA V had shipped 54 million units, meaning a further 6 million units have been shipped since then which is an incredible achievement considering the game is already over 2 years old, however GTA Online is keeping interest in the game amongst gamers high and continues to bring in revenue for the company.
