Halo 5: Guardians brings in £7.7 million on day one in the UK

Halo 5: Guardians generated a gross revenue of £7.7 million in the UK on day one, Microsoft has announced.

For comparison, that means that Halo 5 managed to bring in more money than the UK release of Spectre did which only managed to generate £6.3 million during its first day at box office.

Halo 5 also entered the UK video game charts at No.1, earning more than 50% of the sales that Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate managed to achieve when it released on October 23. However it’s important to note that Halo 5 did have three days longer on sale due to releasing on Tuesday, whereas Syndicate released on a Friday.

No official sales figures have been released yet stating how many copies of Halo 5 have been sold, however it is expected to be less than Halo 4 sales for the same time period. Although that is down to Halo 4 having a larger player base as it released on the Xbox 360 whereas the Xbox One is still relatively new.
