Middle-earth: Shadow of War Release Date Pushed Back

It seems Warner Bros. and Monolith are following Rockstar’s highly supported lead and have delayed the release of Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Originally scheduled for release on August 22nd, the game is now set to release on October 10th.

While the footage we’ve gotten so far of Shadow of War looks promising with regards to its gameplay, many have noted that Monolith seem to have been cutting corners with the game’s graphics, so it can be assumed the developer wants to address these issues with graphics and animations and provide a properly polished product on release…and not make the same mistake BioWare made with Mass Effect: Andromeda.

As previously mentioned, Rockstar’s decision to delay Red Dead Redemption 2 has been met with surprisingly high levels of positive feedback among the gaming community as it shows they are dedicated to sticking to their usual high standards and not throwing a half-finished game out of the gate. One must wonder if Warner Bros. and Monolith will receive this same level of praise for deciding to push back Shadow of War almost two months. I think they should, and this is coming from someone who loved Shadow of Mordor and has been looking forward to a sequel for that game with great anticipation for quite some time. Let’s hope this is the only delay though and that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be fully polished with a fine sheen and ready to go come October. More footage of the game is expected at E3, so stay tuned for more updates.
