Could Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Be Released Next Month?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered could finally be set to release as a standalone game next month if a listing on Amazon Japan is anything to go by. Currently, the only way to play Modern Warfare Remastered is by owning a copy of the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, but thankfully, that may be about to change.

The Modern Warfare Remastered listing on Amazon Japan states that the game will released as a standalone title on June 20th and adds weight to the rumour that circulated last month that also hinted at a standalone release for the remastered version of Modern Warfare.

Last month, GameFly listed the title as a standalone title that was set to be releasing at some point in June. It’s always been thought that Activision would release the remastered game as a standalone title at some point following Infinite Warfare’s release last November, so the fact that both GameFly and Amazon Japan have not only included listings for the game but have also marked the same month for release, it definitely looks like there’s a good chance this could prove to be true. We also wouldn’t put it past Activision making a reveal at this year’s E3.

If this rumour is true, the one thing we don’t know quite yet though is at what price a standalone Modern Warfare Remastered will launch. The listing on Amazon Japan has a price of 7,776 Yen, which is roughly $70. That price point wouldn’t make sense in the US or Europe as that price is just below that of the Legacy Edition for Infinite Warfare, which comes bundled with Modern Warfare Remastered. Therefore, we anticipate that Activision will probably price the game around the $40 mark.
