Yooka-Laylee’s E3 Trailer Revealed but Game’s Release Date Pushed Back

Playtonic Games, the developers of the upcoming 3-D Platformer Yooka-Laylee, have released their E3 trailer.

Along with the trailer it was confirmed the game would no longer be released October this year, but in Q1 2017. The decision to push release back was down to Playtonic Games wanting to polish the game to ensure it is of high quality, rather than rushing for the earlier release.

The gameplay trailer is the first glimpse of the game, outside of the clips shown as part of the Kickstarter project, and it looks stunning. It showcases the tricks this chameleon and bat duo can do such as invisibility, breathing fire, turning into metal, flying, and even shape shifting together. Some of the levels and characters you will come across on your adventure are also shown in the trailer.

Yooka-Laylee oozes so many similarities with Banjo-Kazooie and it looks like the new partners are going to be worthy successors. It’s also good to see that the developers’ humour is still making its way into their games.

The Kickstarter Toybox which is available for those who backed the game a certain amount of money, is still set for its early July release.
