Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed Until September

Gaming Respawn's Most Anticipated Games 2019

Fans will have to wait longer to play the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077.

In a recent tweet, CD Projekt Red gave an announcement regarding the delay, including a new release date of September 17th, 2020. The statement clarifies that the developers are spending more time to playtest, fix, and polish the game. This is, as they say, due to the sheer scale and complexity of the game’s setting, Night City.

You can view the tweet below. Be aware that the statement features a bright yellow background that some may find hard to look at for long.

Among responses to the statement, excluding memes, a large proportion of messages show support for CD Projekt Red. However, there are some responses expressing disappointment, and in a few cases anger, at the news.

Cyberpunk 2077 joins Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines 2 in having a push back from a spring release to an autumn release. There was also a wave of push-backs for games in October 2019, including The Last of Us Part II, Doom Eternal, and several Ubisoft titles, to 2020 dates.

Bear in mind that the release date may not have yet been updated on the GAME website. The collector’s edition for all three platforms is in stock at time of publishing.
