Red Dead Fans Attempting to Create Red Dead Redemption for PC via GTA V Mod

Many PC gamers have never forgiven Rockstar Games for not releasing their Magnum Opus, Red Dead Redemption, on PC. Well finally, nearly seven years after its release, the game will be coming to PC, well….sort of.

A group of fans are attempting to mod Red Dead’s map into Grand Theft Auto V. This mammoth of a task could prove to be one of the more difficult mods we have seen, but the fans behind the project feel confident and believe a playable beta will be here for the summer.

The team have posted in the GTA Forums looking for help from experienced programmers to help with Red Dead‘s unique gameplay elements, such as the Dead-Eye feature. The team have been busy for the last two years, however, getting the map ready for coding and editing the in-game world itself.

How long Rockstar will allow this project to carry on though is anyone’s guess, but PC gamers will be praying that this dedicated team of fans will be allowed to complete their vision and Red Dead Redemption V (the project’s working title) will be released.
