Xbox Scorpio Will Support Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility

Just like the Xbox One, Xbox Scorpio will support Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, Mike Ybarra, Director of Program Management for Xbox, has confirmed.

When Xbox Scorpio launches at the end of 2017, it will ship with backwards compatibility support, meaning that you’ll be able to play all the Xbox 360 games that are supported via Xbox One’s backwards compatibility feature including the likes of Red Dead Redemption.

Not all Xbox 360 games will be supported via backwards compatibility though, with only the titles available to play on Xbox One being playable on Scorpio as well.

Xbox Scorpio will play Xbox One games, so there won’t be any platform specific games for the Xbox Scorpio; however, certain features and visuals will only be available on the Xbox Scorpio and not on Xbox One, similar to how PS4 Pro functions.
