The PlayStation Revolution – New Backer Reward

This is just a quick update on the Kickstarter campaign for The PlayStation Revolution documentary, which I covered last week here. The campaign is now over 50% funded with 21 days left to go. But more excitingly, as a new incentive and a thanks to all those who’ve already backed the project, the Caulfields are providing immediate access to 2.5 hours worth of content to anyone who has or will go on to pledge £10 or more (i.e. the entry level).

This free backer pack is made up of unreleased footage shot for the previous From Bedrooms to Billions films and will appeal to fans of the Amiga, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum and PlayStation, as well other systems. This is purely bonus material, which will not be used in the upcoming project, and offers insights from developers, coders, artists, musicians and others.

Highlights include Ron Gilbert on Maniac Mansion, Matthew Smith on Jet Set Willy and Manic Miner, Rob Hubbard on the Commando music, Archer MacLean on IK+ and Jimmy White’s “Whirlwind” Snooker, and David Braben on Frontier: Elite II. That alone should have retro freaks drooling!
