Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa Reveals Switch 2 Backwards Compatibility at Investors Meeting

So, Nintendo of Japan had their Investors meeting for Q3 2024. Some sales figures came out, such as The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. That game sold nearly 2.6 million units in the last 5 days of the month of September alone. That sales figure will likely jump big time as the current mainline title enters the holiday season.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa revealed that the Switch Library of games (physical at this time; possibly including digital titles with Switch Online titles like the SNES, NES, GBA, GBC, and N64 + Mature N64+ titles) are all backwards compatible with the upcoming Nintendo Switch Successor.

In addition, the Switch was revealed to have sold 146.04 million units as of the end of Q3 2024.
Pokémon Scarlet/Violet was revealed to have now sold 25.69 million since release. The franchise will all but certainly break the 100 million units mark by the time Pokémon Legends Z-A releases in 2025.

Last but not least, the Switch Successor is still on track to be revealed by the end of fiscal year 2024 (March 31st, 2025).
