Is Left 4 Dead 2 heading to Xbox One via backwards compatibility?

Since Microsoft introduced backwards compatibility for the Xbox One, there has no doubt been some great games which have made the jump from Xbox 360 to Xbox One. However there is undoubtedly lots of games which are yet to arrive on the console despite huge interest from gamers. Apart from the obvious Red Dead Redemption, one of those games is also Left 4 Dead 2.

As the wait for Left 4 Dead 3 drags on and despite numerous rumours that the game is in development, there is no official proof that the game is currently being made and will be releasing anytime soon. Despite that, Left 4 Dead 2 is still a very popular game and would sell very well on the Xbox One. So, is it likely to be coming to the Xbox One?

According to a rumour picked up by SoloXboxOne (Sorry it’s not in English), one user has claimed to have been able to download and install Left 4 Dead 2 on their Xbox One via backwards compatability. However he wasn’t able to play it as it asked for the disc to be inserted.

He posted a picture online of the game installing on his console, although it can’t be verified whether or not the photo is genuine or a fake.

Other users have apparently attempted to also install Left 4 Dead 2 without succeeding, but if Left 4 Dead 2 is coming to the Xbox One via backwards compatibility, there is a chance that some of the games files may be on the system and were downloaded by this user. Or he might never have downloaded the game in the first place and just did a Photoshop for that image. We don’t know.

Hopefully this is a sign though that Left 4 Dead 2 will be making its way to the Xbox One shortly one way or another.
