Well, almost a week after Infinity Ward decided to delay the next update indefinitely due to the George Floyd and Black Lives Matter protests, they have decided to release Season 4 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone…tonight.
Prior to this, the only update Call of Duty saw was a message extending their understanding and support of the protesters and the BLM movement, which followed the gestures of many other video games, like NBA 2K and GTA V/Red Dead Redemption.
So, what exactly can we expect in this next update? Well, for starters, the size.
We’ll be looking at another *sighs* big update, but Sr. Communications Manager Ashton Williams communicated via Twitter that once downloaded, the launch will only take up 4 GB of data. Although this is encouraging, if your console or PC is at the end of its memory capacity, expect to clear things off to actually get the download going.
The only thing we know for sure in this next season is the star of the season, a new battle pass, and new weapons. Captain John Price joins the growing cast of operators that you can play as, and you’ll have an opportunity to play as him while being equipped with the Vector and Galil (I, personally, am excited about the Galil). He’s been teased during this current season and, if you are familiar with the game’s history, comes as no surprise.
But along with all that, new maps and modes also tend to come with the update, so make sure to keep your eye out for that as well. Although there have been talks about a new zombie mode coming soon, it’s not likely that it will be coming in this next update (although I’d love to be wrong about this).
If you’re just joining the battle, here’s a story update on what’s been going on in the world of Warzone.
We can’t wait to see you in Verdansk, and you’ll find me dropping in at Superstore with my Galil in hand.
