They Are Billions Leaves Early Access and Adds New Lengthy Campaign

They Are Billions has left Steam’s Early Access program thanks to its latest version 1.0 update, which adds the much-anticipated campaign mode to the zombie RTS game.

As expected, the 1.0 update includes a number of bug fixes and adjustments for the game, but the standout addition to They Are Billions is the brand new campaign that will see players reconquering lands from the infected hordes.

The campaign, known as The New Empire, will see players lead the reconquering under the orders of Quintus Crane, the ruler of the New Empire. Players will be able to take part in 48 missions that are said to include more than 60 hours of gameplay. The campaign also sets out to shed some light on how the apocalypse started.

As for what you’ll actually be doing, you’ll be building up fortified colonies in infected territories as you build up your Imperial Army, ready to destroy the hordes of the infected that have wreaked havoc on the world. There are over 90 available technologies as well for players to take advantage of to help further their colony.  Ancient human fortresses that can be explored by heroes have also been added to the game.

They Are Billions’ survival mode has also received some love in this update with two maps and scenarios being added. The first one, The Deep Forest, is designed to introduce new players to the game and is more forgiving. With plenty of resources available, it will now be the default scenario available.

On the other hand, the second map, The Caustic Lands, is described as being the hardest map of them all. The map will be riddled with the most dangerous infected in the game, as well as the Doom Colony, who will occupy up to 30% of the map.

Developer Numantian Games is also offering a 10% discount on They Are Billions to celebrate the game leaving Early Access.
