Borderlands 3 Gameplay Footage Leaked Online

Gameplay footage from Borderlands 3 has been leaked online, ahead of Gearbox Software’s official gameplay reveal event later this week.

While the gameplay clip was only 30 seconds long and mainly showed the player opening chests, it did nonetheless show off some new aspects of Borderlands 3 that fans have been eagerly anticipating, including giving us a glimpse of some of the new weapons featured in the game. If you’re interested in watching the short clip, which has already been viewed over 145,000 times, it is available on Streamable here.

The chests featured in the game were Maliwan, one of the main weapon manufacturers in the Borderlands universe. In one of the chests, we get to see a Manipulating Multiplex sniper rifle, which deals radiation damage. The two sniper rifles featured in the video were able to swap between two different types of elemental damage, fire and radiation in the case of the uncommon green Manipulating Multiplex sniper rifle, and fire and shock for the uncommon Accreting Multiplex sniper rifle. It also appears that each weapon has a weapon score, which is also new to Borderlands 3. It’s likely that this score will serve as a handy guide when comparing different weapons.

Gearbox Software will be hosting a gameplay reveal event on Wednesday where the studio will show fans official gameplay footage from the game for the first time. Thankfully, this leak was rather short and didn’t show any combat, so it’s unlikely to have spoiled Gearbox’s plans too much.

Borderlands 3 releases worldwide September 13th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
