Capcom have announced the release of their classic title, Onimusha: Warlords, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam). It’s scheduled to release worldwide on January 15th, 2019.
The plot revolves around the samurai Samanosuke Akechi’s battle with the evil forces of Nobunaga Oda in the Sengoku period and his quest to save Princess Yuki. Players take control over Samansouke and his companion, Kaede, a female ninja. The game has a deep focus on action, with Samanosuke able to wield multiple weapons that can be upgraded via defeating enemies.
The remaster boasts a range of exciting new features, such as high definition graphics, widescreen support, new display options, a new soundtrack and an easy mode will be available from the start.
The action-adventure title first released in 2001 on the PlayStation 2. It was the first PS2 title to hit one million sales, and the figures continued to surpass two million units. It’s widely regarded as one of the best games on the system. An updated version, Genma Onimusha, released for the Xbox the following year in 2002.
