Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey Will Be Longer Than Origins

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will be much longer than last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Origins, game director Scott Phillips has revealed during a Q&A session with Game Informer.

If you’re a fan of Ubisoft’s open-world adventure games, this comes as great news as Origins was already a very large and long game as it was. For starters, we already know that the size of the map in Odyssey is nearly twice as big as that of Origins.

That’s not all, however, as it will take “much longer” to complete Odyssey than it did to finish Origins, according to Phillips. Origins took an average of 30 hours to complete the main story, although dipping into the additional content offered, such as side quests and exploration, could see that time increase to around 50 hours.

If this is the case, there’s no doubt that Odyssey will provide value for money. Hopefully, the content will be enough to keep gamers interested and engaged. While Origins did manage to do this fairly well, it still suffered from the same problem a lot of Ubisoft games do: They get repetitive and grindy. We’ll find out for sure though when Odyssey launches in October.

Here’s the Q&A. Phillips answers the question about the length of the game at 3:06.
