Rumour: Red Dead Redemption 2 hinted at by former developer, said to be next game for Rockstar

We all want to see Red Dead Redemption 2 and Rockstar have certainly been playing the long game with fans for several years now and yet despite the huge demand for a third entry in the Red Dead series, Rockstar has still kept its mouth shut. There have been a lot of different rumours over the years from sources close to Rockstar and even hints from Take-Two, although nothing has ever been officially confirmed.

According to a former employee of Rockstar however, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be the next game released by the studio.

A former developer of Rockstar, Danny Ross, was holding an AMA on Reddit when he was asked what was next for Rockstar. He replied, “Really? Dumbass. Really? Two.”

Now, since this is a rumour about Red Dead Redemption 2, it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out, but just in case, Really? Dumbass. Really? Two. What does it spell? RDRT(2).

As someone who has worked at the studio, he would probably be in a good position to know what was coming next. However it must be taken with a pinch of salt as he is a former employee and he probably knew what everyone wanted or expected him to say so he could have been playing along. Hopefully not though.

However there could be more to this rumour that Red Dead Redemption 2 will in fact be the next game. For starters, Take Two’s chief Strauss Zelnick has previously stated that Red Dead was a permanent franchise. WhatCulture also claim that an anonymous source close to Rockstar has revealed that the working title for RDR2 is Red Dead 3.
