Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey Confirmed

Ubisoft have confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will be the next title to arrive in the popular franchise. They’ve also stated that we will learn more about the game at E3.

The news came from a tweet that the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account posted. It features a 5 second clip with shades of the 300 movie with a character kicking his rival off the edge of a cliff in a ”This is Sparta” style moment. This is followed by the logo of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey that features a King Leonidas-style helmet, with the message ”See you at E3” below.

Ubisoft revealed their latest Action-adventure title hours after the French video game website, JeuxVideo-Live, leaked an image of an Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey ”Collectible Helmet Keychain”. The site also suggested the game would be set in Ancient Greece, and the reveal on Twitter appears to confirm this.

The most recent Assassin’s Creed title was Assassin’s Creed: Origins which released in October 2017 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This entry to the series was set in Egypt at the final stages of the Ptolemaic period (49–47 BC). The story revolves around the origins of the conflict between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the forerunners to the Templar Order known as The Order of the Ancients.

We will hear more about Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey at Ubisoft’s E3 Conference which takes place on June 11th.

Stay tuned to Gaming Respawn and we will keep you informed of all the key information that comes out of E3.
