Monster Hunter: World’s Devil May Cry Collaboration Event Has Begun

Monster Hunter World’s collaboration with fellow Capcom franchise, Devil May Cry is now live.

The Event Quest is called Code Red and takes place in the Arena. It’s an 8-star quest meaning players will have to be Hunter Rank 14 or above to participate. The objective is to hunt four different monsters: Anjanath, Odogaron, Rathalos and Elder Dragon, Teostra. You’ll notice how all these monsters are associated with the colour red.

The event will reward hunters with Red Orbs. These enable players to craft the new Dante themed armor so you can look like the main protagonist of Devil May Cry whist hunting. You’re also able to craft a new DMC style weapon, Dante’s Devil Sword.

This is a new rarity 8 Charge Blade which is different from all others currently in the game. Typically, Charge Blades in Monster Hunter comprise of a sword and shield that can switch into an axe mode to deal high damage. However, Dante’s Devil Sword is a combination of two swords from the Devil May Cry franchise, the Force Edge and Alastor.

From Capcom Unity Blog: ‘‘We’re putting a bit of a DMC twist to the formula and leaving the shield out of the picture altogether (you’ll still be able to guard though) and instead of a sword turning into an axe, you’ll get a Force Edge that turns into a massive Alastor.’’

The event celebrates the release of Devil May Cry HD Collection earlier this year in March, review here. It was also confirmed last year by Hideaki Itsuno, director of most previous titles in the franchise, that another project is in the works. Many speculate that this will be Devil May Cry 5.

This collaboration event is scheduled to end on May 10th, so be sure to complete the quest before then so you can craft the new armor and weapon on offer.
