With PC and Xbox One owners already preloading their digital copies of Fallout 4, it is finally the turn of Sony’s PlayStation 4 to preload Fallout 4 ahead of the games launch at midnight.
PS4 owners had been told to expect preloading to be available over the weekend, after PC preloading was available on Steam from Friday November 6. However the announcement many were waiting for didn’t come until just before midnight last night here in the UK.
Bethesda took to Twitter to announce that preloading was now available, stating:
Check your PS4… #Fallout4 should be preloading. #WelcomeHome
— Bethesda Softworks (@bethesda) November 8, 2015
Therefore Fallout 4 PS4 preloading is now available to anyone who has purchased a digital copy of the game from the PSN store and will be playable the second the game is unlocked in your region. If you purchased a physical copy of Fallout 4, preloading obviously won’t be available to you. However there will be a day one patch needed for Fallout 4, although the time it will take to download and install will be nothing compared to having to install the game from scratch straight from unlock.
