Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition Announced

Announced on the official PlayStation Twitter account, Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition will be released, including the base game and The Frozen Wilds expansion, by Guerrilla Games, coming to North America on the 5th of December and priced at $49.99 MSRP. As with the base game, this release will be a PS4 exclusive.

A separate tweet from PlayStation Europe also confirmed the release date in European territories as the 6th of December. This release will likely see a similar price, depending on the region. Both tweets also featured the Complete Edition’s pretty fantastic box-art.

The release includes the base game, The Frozen Wilds expansion, and all of the features included in the Digital Deluxe edition of the game (which include a digital art book, a PS4 theme, and some in-game weapons and items).

Publishers Sony Interactive Entertainment are likely aiming for holiday sales by placing the release in early December, quite a far cry from its initial February/March release back at the start of the year.

The fact this release is called the ‘Complete Edition’ might indicate that The Frozen Wilds will be the only DLC that Horizon Zero Dawn sees, unless we somehow get an ‘Even More Complete Edition’ later on. If The Frozen Wilds DLC is, indeed, the only DLC for the game, this could indicate that Guerrilla Games is working on newer projects, though only time will tell.

Gaming Respawn’s own Alec Hawley had previously reviewed the base game, giving it a 10/10 and calling it “remarkably, thrillingly new” and “an unforgettable masterpiece.”
