Star Wars: Battlefront II Hero Characters Revealed

The closed alpha for Dice’s Star Wars: Battlefront II began last week and, as a result, clever users have deciphered the code to find out some details for the upcoming sequel to the 2015 release.

Users on Reddit have mined the game files and have found the list of heroes we will be able to play as in the game’s multiplayer modes. Like the 2015 release, players will be given the chance to play as beloved characters from the saga. These characters are vastly superior to the standard troop deployments and can really help edge a side to victory if used wisely.

In keeping with the ‘content from all eras’ mantra, there are some great additions here but also some questionable exclusions.

• Han Solo
• Luke Skywalker
• Leia Organa
• Darth Vader
• Chewbacca
• Emperor Palpatine
• Boba Fett
• Lando Calrissian
• Bossk
• Yoda
• General Grievous
• Darth Maul
• Rey
• Kylo Ren
• Captain Phasma
• Iden Versio

It’s great to see Grievous as a playable hero as he is a hugely popular character within the Star Wars community. Most fans will only know him from his appearance in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, but he was also a central antagonist during The Clone Wars animated show. Two other hugely popular Prequel characters are strangely missing. Where are Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jin and Padmé? Also, Obi-Wan Kenobi appears to be a no-show? In both his Prequel and Original trilogy incarnation. With the inclusion of Darth Maul, it should have been a safe bet his adversaries from The Phantom Menace would also be available, even more so as one of the multiplayer maps is set in Theed, the capital of Naboo where Maul fought both Jedi. Hopefully, the missing heroes will be available as part of Dice’s planned free DLC for Battlefront II.

Star Wars: Battlefront II will available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from the 17th of November.
