Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire Is Now Open for Pre-Register

Square Enix recently announced that the mobile game based on Final Fantasy XV entitled “Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire” is now open for pre-register.

The game previously had a ‘soft release’ in New Zealand back in late March, which also included a system wherein players would receive extra rewards in the game for alerting the development team to incorrect or dodgy translations. But it appears, if the above tweet is anything to go by, that Square is gearing up to release the game to other areas of the globe. It is currently unknown if the system that rewards players for finding translation errors will still be present after this second launch.

The game seems to be set in a kind of alternative reality where Noctis and friends have to rebuild or entirely recreate the main game’s kingdom of Insomnia. Gameplay seems to be a mix of town/city building with light elements of combat. One of the main features is the ability to collect and use various characters from the main game, including non-combatant characters like Cindy, to help build up the player’s city.

Interestingly, this won’t be the only mobile game connected to Final Fantasy XV coming out, however, as the previously announced King’s Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon is also slated for an August release, although King’s Knight only connection to the Final Fantasy XV universe is that the characters from the game play it in their spare time. Depending on how long A New Empire’s pre-register period lasts, the two games might be launched in a fairly close window of time.

Both Final Fantasy: A New Empire and King’s Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon will be available for iOS and Android after release.
