Could The Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5 Include Multiplayer?

Bethesda have recently put up a job advert which could indicate a slight shift from the single-player focus that the company’s games have so far been known for. The job listing reveals that Bethesda are seeking a Senior Core Tech Engineer who will be able to “maintain, optimize, and extend our core engine technology.”

However, there’s one thing that Bethesda are seeking for in particular which gives hope that The Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5 may possibly include multiplayer. In the listing, the company state that the person they are seeking must have “experience developing for online multiplayer environment.”

We do know that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be happening one day, so there’s a chance that Bethesda may be looking at including multiplayer support in one form or another. The same can be said for the next Fallout game.

However, Bethesda have already confirmed that they are working on several upcoming games that haven’t been announced yet, so there’s every chance that the core tech engineer could be focusing on these titles. If that is the case, hopefully Bethesda will at least consider adding some form of multiplayer to the next Elder Scrolls or Fallout game since they’ll have the expertise to do so.

While there is The Elder Scrolls Online, it’s important to remember that ZeniMax Media are in control of it, and it has nothing to do with Bethesda Game Studios, which is who this listing is specifically for.

How would you feel about the possibility of exploring The Elder Scrolls 6 in co-op or traversing the wasteland in Fallout 5 with a partner?
