It’s one of the most anticipated titles of 2017, so it’s no wonder that rumours surrounding the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date have begun to circulate. The latest rumour doing the rounds is that Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to launch on October 3rd.
The release date has come via Polish retailer Media Markt who put up a listing for Red Dead Redemption 2 on their website. In the listing the retailer included October 3rd as the release date for Rockstar’s open-world Western game.
Since being spotted, Media Markt have adjusted the listing and replaced the date with a placeholder one. However, they were contacted by Polish website CD-Action shortly after the listing began to circulate, who received a reply from the retailer which stated that the release date was provided to them by the game’s distributor for them to post on their pre-order listing of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Reddit user Adakam8323 translated the email into English and revealed that Media Markt initially told CD-Action, “I would like to inform you that our marketing department was informed by distributor of the game that its airing date is 3rd of October 2017.”
However, it seems that a PR representative for Media Markt contacted CD-Action and backtracked on their original reply, telling them that in actual fact the release date had not been passed to them by a distributor and that it was a mistake made by an employee.
