It looks like we won’t be seeing an appearance from beloved Uncharted series protagonist Nathan Drake in the upcoming standalone expansion of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
Upon its first announcement, it left a lot of questions in fans’ heads on whether or not we will see Drake in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, but some light has been shed according to PlayStation Blog Game Director Kurt Margenau said:
“We’re not going to touch on Nathan Drake in this, at all.”
Set on the southern coast of India, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is instead going to circulate around 2 of Nathan’s past co-stars, Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross. Injecting a more condescending tone to the series, it seems Chloe and Nadine aren’t always going to see eye-to-eye which, thinking back on the famous Uncharted dialogue, will surely bring some entertaining moments onscreen.
Developers Naughty Dog have decided to star Chloe, whose first appearance was in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, due to her selfish demeanour and darker moral compass. These traits go hand-in-hand with Nadine’s desperate hunt for redemption as she is out of work thanks to the collapse of Shoreline seen in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
In terms of the length of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Naughty Dog have given us a rough idea of bigger than The Last of Us: Left Behind but shorter than Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. It doesn’t really reveal much considering Left Behind was standalone DLC content for The Last of Us and Uncharted 4 was a full length game, but we are very optimistic that the adventures of Chloe and Nadine will be a significant inclusion to the series, whilst Nate and Elena are sat at their beach home with their daughter playing Crash Bandicoot…sorry er, SPOILER ALERT!
