Rock Out Whilst Shooting Down Bad Guys in New Kinect Game Air Guitar Warrior

Dust off your Kinect sensor, you can now become a rock star and save the world AT THE SAME TIME! Developers Virtual Air Guitar Company have created quite a bizarre looking side-scrolling shoot-em-up called Air Guitar Warrior which hits Xbox One on March 29th via the ID@Xbox self publishing programme.

In Air Guitar Warrior, the Kinect places you on the back of a dinosaur, a Viking ship or a flaming meteor as you shoot down flying saucers and other flying meanies whilst simultaneously controlling the music yourself. Of course, Air Guitar Warrior doesnt require any peripherals or controllers, you simply strum to shoot with one hand and move up and down the fret board with the other or bend backwards to unleash serious stopping power. Cleverly, soundtrack creators Mika Tyyskä / Mr. Fastfinger and Samppa Siurala recorded multiple variations of the lead guitar for every track so the game can react to how you’re playing.

“You’re not just playing along, you’re in control of the music as much as you’re in control of the game, you’re doing two things at the same time, but the goal is the same: to be awesome.”

says Aki Kanerva, Founder and Lead Designer at Virtual Air Guitar Company.
