Bethesda Currently Working on 7 Games, Including Fallout 4 VR and “Two Larger Projects”

Bethesda Game Studios are hard at working developing their next games and following Todd Howard’s teasing of three large projects last week, he has added that the studio is actually working on seven new games, including Fallout 4 VR and two large projects which are “bigger than anything we’ve done.”

Last week Howard spoke to Glixel where he discussed what Bethesda were currently working on. So far, we know that the studio is working on releasing a VR version of Fallout 4 as well as a new mobile game in addition to some large projects.

Speaking to Glixel, Howard said, “We’ve got a good number of projects on the go. We’re bigger now and we do want to be putting out more stuff. We have two larger projects that are more classically the scale of what we do, but even bigger.”

“We overlap the projects so we’re working on them at the same time, but they’re staggered. I can’t talk a lot about them, but I can say that they’re bigger than anything we’ve ever done. They’re a bit different, but definitely in the wheelhouse that people are used to from us.”

Howard also did an interview with IGN where he provided some more details about what Bethesda are currently working on. He told IGN that Bethesda has “seven [projects] going.” Of those seven projects, one of those is the new mobile game with the two more projects already being announced, these being Fallout 4 VR and the Nintendo Switch port of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

With regards to Fallout 4 VR, it’s playable from “start to finish in VR.”

“There’s no content that we removed or changed [for VR],” Howard said. “It’s interface work, it’s other things. There are issues with locomotion, how you traverse that much space, and we’re hoping to support as many modes as possible… It’s not done yet, there’s work to do, but the parts that are there, I’m biased but it’s pretty incredible.”

We also know that Bethesda are currently working on The Elder Scrolls 6, although according to Howard himself, we’re more likely to hear about the “two larger projects” before we get to see anything from The Elder Scrolls 6.

It’s these two unannounced projects, though, which seem to be of most interest as they are described as being bigger than anything Bethesda have done before, but that they are “definitely in the wheelhouse that people are used to from us.”
