For Honor has claimed top spot in the UK Video Game Charts this week following a strong sales performance since its release on February 14th.
Ubisoft’s fighting game beat the likes of Sniper Elite 4 and Grand Theft Auto V to number one and is Ubisoft’s first chart topping game since The Division which released in March 2016. Watch Dogs 2 is the company’s only other title in the top ten as it takes this week’s tenth spot.
According to Chart-Track, which only tracks physical sales, For Honor is the biggest new IP to launch since No Man’s Sky back in August 2016. 57% of For Honor’s sales were on PS4 with 43% on Xbox One.
This is the first time that the top two games in the charts have been new entries since September which saw FIFA 17 and Forza Horizon 3 claim the top two spots, both of which were new entries.
Elsewhere, Rebellion’s Sniper Elite 4 has also proved to be a hit and entered the charts at number two with Grand Theft Auto V sliding into third place. FIFA 17 and Battlefield 1 round of the top 5, respectively. Capcom’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard sits in at number six.
