Crackdown 3 Release Date Set for Holiday 2017 at the Latest

Crackdown 3‘s developers have revealed via a Twitch stream that they are aiming to release the game in time for holiday 2017.

The developers were taking part in a Microsoft Game Studios Twitch Stream for charity when they were asked about Crackdown 3‘s release date, at which point the confirmed that they are targeting a holiday 2017 launch. However, there may be a chance we see the game before then as Senior Art Director Dave Johnson added that we may see the game “earlier”.

Crackdown 3 was originally due to release this year, but Microsoft announced that it had missed its targeted release back in June, adding that it would instead release in 2017. We didn’t now when in 2017 it would release, but we know now that a holiday 2017 release is being targeted.

In addition to giving us an idea of when Crackdown 3 will release, the developers also confirmed that the open-world game will support 4K resolution on Xbox Scorpio, which was to be expected. Scorpio will be released towards the end of 2017, so Crackdown 3 may be one of the first games released alongside the Scorpio’s launch.

Crackdown 3 will be available on both Xbox One and PC, via Windows 10.
