If you’re a PC gamer, you may be finding it hard to get over Rockstar’s decision to release Red Dead Redemption 2
Currently the petition has over 44,000 signatures and continues to climb. The petition, which was created just after Red Dead Redemption 2 was officially announced, asked Rockstar to consider releasing the game on PC and not to deny PC gamers the opportunity to play “an amazing game.”
Rockstar usually bring their games to PC, as was the case with Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne to name two games, although they never did release the first Red Dead Redemption on PC despite there being a huge demand for it. However, after the game’s critical success in 2010, there is even more demand for the studio to bring one of 2017’s most anticipated games to the PC.
One of the reasons why Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t scheduled to come to the PC may be due to the studio developing the game. Despite being developed by Rockstar, it’s the company’s San Diego studio that is developing RDR2 rather than Rockstar North who are famous for the Grand Theft Auto series.
While Rockstar have not officially confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will not be coming to the PC, it doesn’t look very likely at the moment. Perhaps they are still considering it and will announce more details at a later date. Rockstar are known for releasing their games on PC a year or two after they first come to consoles, so if Red Dead Redemption 2 does manage to find its way onto the platform, it probably won’t be until a few years after its initial launch.
When Ubisoft first announced The Division at E3 2013, they initially only announced it for PS4 and Xbox One; however, after an online petition gained several hundred thousand signatures, Ubisoft reversed their PC snub and went onto release The Division on all platforms. Perhaps Rockstar could pull a Ubisoft?
