It doesn’t look like we’re going to see “Left 4 Dead 3” anytime soon; however, if you’re craving for some new Left 4 Dead content, developer Turtle Rock has released a new campaign titled “Dam It” for Left 4 Dead that they never got to finish.
In addition to releasing the Dam It campaign, Turtle Rock also released a couple of survival maps that never shipped with the original game.
However, Turtle Rock stated that it wasn’t their decision to pull the plug on additional Left 4 Dead content, with Dam It being the most recent campaign they were working on before they had to abandon developing additional content.
“Just finished putting the Dam It campaign that we streamed a while back into a L4D addon,” stated Turtle Rock co-founder Chris Ashton on their forums. “It’s gray box, and some code features are missing but it’s playable from beginning to end. It also includes two standalone survival maps that never shipped.!”
Ashton added, “This was the most recent campaign we worked on, it was built after Crash Course and Sacrifice. Similar to Evolve, it was not our decision to pull the plug on additional L4D content. We had to walk away from our baby.”
Dam It stitches Dead Air and Blood Harvest together, and unfortunately the campaign is only available on PC, meaning that those who own Left 4 Dead on a last-gen console miss out.
