Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord features revealed at Gamescom, includes crafting, sieges and dynamic weather

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord is one of the most anticipated games within the PC gaming community since it was announced back in 2012. Following the huge success of Mount & Blade: Warband, Taleworlds has set out to create a vastly improved gaming experience for its latest installment in the series, Bannerlord.

Having announced that Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord would be shown off at Gamescom, Taleworlds certainly delivered with the gameplay video they released. Although marked as work in progress, Bannerlord will feature dynamic weather, which will make its way into the series for the first time along with seasons, making the game feel more alive and realistic than ever. Judging by the video, the graphics have also seen a huge improvement.

Sieges have also undergone a big change, giving the player more choice as to how they approach each castle with a range of different siege weapons available such as catapults and battering rams. There is also crafting, allowing players to craft their own weapons as shown in the video. You can change the type of blade, handle, guard and pommel to give you a unique weapon to take to the battlefield. We also mustn’t forget the board games which you can play now when you visit taverns, although having watched the video a few times I am still not sure how exactly the rules work to that specific game shown!

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord will also feature a replay function, allowing would be video makers to record their fights and produce short videos based on them.

No information was given about a potential release date for Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord however so it may still be some time until we get to play the game for ourselves. The game is looking extremely promising though and we can’t wait to see more.
