Following several reports of connectivity and performance issues with Street Fighter V’s first scheduled beta, Capcom have posted an official apology on their Capcom Unity blog, saying that they will postpone the beta until further notice. “While the purpose of a beta is to work out these type of issues, it was very clear that the issues we faced were more severe than we were prepared for. […] We will be postponing our first beta phase until we believe the experience is going to be a positive one for players.” says the blog post.
The statement goes on to say that, in spite of some players’ concerns, this three-day-long beta will not count towards the previously announced beta tests available as pre-order incentives. In other words, there will still be at least three full beta tests prior to launch and they will be accessible to anyone who pre-oredered the game.
Furthermore, Capcom is “working on a worthwhile in-game incentive for the players that participated in the first beta test.” but nothing specific has been revealed yet.
