Red Dead Redemption Listed on Xbox App Store as being Backward Compatible, Release Imminent?

We may be a step closer to seeing Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox One as a listing for the game has been found on the Xbox App Store which states that the game will be backward compatible for the Xbox One.

Microsoft haven’t revealed any details about when Red Dead Redemption will be available on the Xbox One but it has been known for some time now that the game will be made available via backward compatibility. As this recent listing has been discovered, it is now just a case of “when” it releases, not a case of “if”.

Two other games have also been listed on the Xbox App Store suggesting that a release could be imminent for both these games as well as Red Dead Redemption. Bomberman LIVE and Worms 2: Armageddon were the other two games discovered.

Since Microsoft announced backwards compatibility for Xbox One at E3 Last year, Red Dead Redemption has been one of the most requested titles to appear on the Xbox One. Red Dead Redemption released back in 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. If you still have your Xbox 360 disc of the game, you will likely be able to just insert it into the Xbox One once Microsoft release Red Dead Redemption onto the App Store.

It is also rumoured that Rockstar may be working on the next game in the Red Dead franchise, Red Dead Redemption 2 or Red Dead 3. We’ll keep you posted with any details we hear.
