First Gameplay Footage of Dawn of War 3 Released

Released at the PC Gaming Show at E3 2016, we saw the first gameplay footage of Relic Entertainments’ new entry into the Warhammer 40k universe Dawn of War 3. Dawn of War originally was an RTS game which involved plenty of base-building and focused on large armies fighting. Dawn of War 2 focused on small elite squads of Space Marines and the likes providing a more tactical approach, similar to Relic Entertainments’ Company of Heroes. Dawn of War 3 is set to combine the first two games to make Dawn of War 3 into a new beast.

The footage doesn’t show much in the base-building aspect, but the large scale combat is apparent. Basic infantry are forever present along with Elite units with their RPG-like progression. What makes Dawn of War 3 ever so different from its predecessors are the new huge scale units, like the Space Marines’ Imperial Knight which is shown in the video. These units are the biggest units available to the Space Marines’ vast arsenal. These things wreak havoc wherever they are deployed, and it shows in the footage. Back mounted missiles and gatling gun arms make these formidable opponents.

Expect to see more footage from E3 2016. Stay tuned.
