Watch Dogs 2 to release later this year and will be set in San Francisco, report suggests

Watch Dogs 2 will be released later this year, that is according to a new report which suggests the currently unannounced sequel to Watch Dogs will be hitting consoles and PC during the fall.

The original Watch Dogs released back in 2014 and was set in Chicago, however the report claims that the sequel will take players to the West Coast of America, with the city of San Francisco being the new hacking playground.

Recently, a rumour has been circulating that the Assassin’s Creed franchise will be taking a break in 2016, paving way for a revamped reboot in 2017. Kotaku also believes this to be the case from their sources, so Watch Dogs 2 could certainly fill that autumn gap which would be left by Assassin’s Creed.

Ubisoft has Far Cry Primal launching next month, with The Division coming on March 8. After that, 2016 is looking pretty quiet for Ubisoft until they make some announcements regarding either Assassin’s Creed or Watch Dogs 2.

There’s a chance that Ubisoft will announce Watch Dogs 2 at E3 2016, with a release coming during the Autumn.
