Microsoft has announced that all of its Xbox One
The performance of Microsoft’s Xbox One exclusives have helped the Xbox One continue to outpace the Xbox 360 and become the best selling console in Xbox history.
Not only that, but Microsoft described 2015’s festive period as having the “greatest games line-up in Xbox history”, which is set to continue into 2016 with a range of Xbox One exclusives in the pipeline to release later this year, including Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, Quantum Break, Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves as well as ReCore.
Microsoft state that one of the reasons why this holiday season has been so successful for the Xbox One is due to the new Xbox One Experience along with backwards compatibility which has brought a range of classic Xbox 360 games to the Xbox One. As a result, people have spent more time playing games and on Xbox Live than ever before.
“2015 was a monumental year for Xbox – the biggest in our history – and we owe it all to our gaming community. We saw record global engagement and sales fueled by high demand for our greatest games line-up and hardware and accessories like the best-selling Xbox One Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Bundle and our Elite Controller”, said Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President Of Marketing For Xbox.
“Every title in our exclusive 2015 holiday games line-up – Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6 and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition – sold over 1 million units, and the number of Xbox One gamers who played Microsoft Studios-published titles more than doubled compared to 2014.”
