Battlefield V Open Beta Dates Confirmed by DICE

Battlefield V’s open beta will be available to the public on September 6th, DICE has announced. A pre-load will also be available from 8 am UTC on September 3rd.

As it’s an open beta, anyone can join in even if you haven’t pre-ordered a copy of Battlefield V yet. However, those who have pre-ordered the game will get early access to the open beta on September 4th. Early access to the beta will also be given to users who are subscribed to any of EA’s three subscription services: EA Access, Origin Access or Origin Access Premier.

The open beta will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and will give players the chance to jump straight into some 64-player combat in Conquest mode on either the Rotterdam or Arctic Fjord maps.

There will also be a chance to take part in two “days” of Grand Operations, a modular narrative experience which is inspired by historical events. According to DICE, each day is represented by a round of play, with players’ actions from the previous day having a meaningful impact on the next round. During the open beta, this mode will take place on the Arctic Fjord map.

That’s not all that’s included in the open beta though as DICE has also confirmed that players will get to see the brand new Tides of War mode in action for the first time. Tides of War is an evolving journey through World War II, with new narratives added every few months. A five-part chapter for Tides of War will be available as part of the open beta and will give players the chance to earn an exclusive in-game dog tag in Battlefield V.

Battlefield V launches worldwide on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 19th.
