Destiny now has over 25 million registered players, five million of which have joined the game in the last three months alone, Activision Blizzard has announced.
Following the launch of The Taken King expansion in September, the game saw its highest number of active players and Destiny is now seeing that on average, players are playing for “well above 3 hours per day”.
Not only has Destiny’s player-base grown considerably in the last three months and proved a huge success with gamers, Destiny is now also the most watched console game on Twitch according to Activision.
The news of Destiny’s incredible success follows the announcement that Activision has purchased King, the makers of Candy Crush, for a whopping $5.9bn.
