Need for Speed: Payback Announced by EA

We are just under two weeks away from E3, and a big announcement has just been made. If you are a fan of driving incredibly fast cars at ludicrous speeds while performing laws of physics-defyning stunts, well, good news. EA have just announced the latest instalment in the Need for Speed franchise: Payback

Payback has been developed by Ghost Games, which was the studio formed by former members of Criterion Games. Ghost Games are no strangers to the series as they developed 2015’s self-titled reboot of the franchise. Need for Speed has always been known for its fast-paced action, but storytelling not so much. This is set to change, however, as EA announced:

Set in the underworld of Fortune Valley, players will drive as three distinct characters reunited by a quest for vengeance against The House, a nefarious cartel that rules the city’s casinos, criminals and cops. They will take on a variety of challenges and events as Tyler, the Racer; Mac, the Showman; and Jess, the Wheelman to earn the respect of the underground..

Need for Speed: Payback will launch on the 10th of November and will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. If you have an EA Access or Origins subscription, then you can get your hands on it a lot sooner. From the 2nd of November, subscribers to the services will be able to play 10 hours worth of gameplay and receive a 10% discount. If you cannot wait for the full release, then the Deluxe Edition will allow you to unlock the full game three days before general release on the 7th of November.
