EA Servers Still Appear to Be Down Despite EA Claiming They Are Fixed

EA servers are currently experiencing connectivity issues which have left gamers unable to connect online to play games such as Battlefield 1, FIFA 17, and Titanfall 2. The issue looks like it is affecting all EA games across all platforms though including PS4, Xbox One, and Origin on PC.

Reports of the servers being down started to come in last night, and it seems that despite EA claiming that they have now restored service, almost ten hours later, the servers are still down for a lot of people.

Upon reports that the servers were experiencing issues, EA quickly tweeted that they were aware of the issues and were working hard to fix them as soon as possible.

Just a few hours ago, EA tweeted that the connectivity issues had been resolved and apologised for the inconvenience. However, lots of gamers are still unable to connect to EA servers and are left unable to play EA’s games online.

EA have not yet confirmed what caused their servers to go down, but there’s a possibility that it may have been a DDOS attack, similar to the one that rocked EA servers and the Battlefield 1 beta at the end of August. That attack was launched by infamous group Poodlecorp, but it seems unlikely that they are behind this latest issue as their Twitter account has been inactive since the end of September and they always tweeted about their latest attacks.

If you’re still unable to access the servers on console, EA Support suggests you power cycle your console and router and to check to see if they have fixed the issue. There are people reporting that by doing that, they were able to finally get online.
