Funcom Announce Mod Support for Conan Exiles

Conan Exiles, the upcoming new title from Funcom described as an open-world sandbox adventure game, has already been given a release date for January 31st, and this is now complimented with some very good news that will delight PC players and keen modders alike.

The official website for Conan Exiles has detailed that there will be the possibility to download a custom Unreal Engine editor which will grant the ability to create weapons, monsters and give the user the power to adjust normal gameplay settings with the additional modding tools. The mod management tool will also be linked with the Steam Workshop, allowing the community access to these mods with ease. All the details of this update can be found on the Conan Exiles website HERE.

“The great thing about these games is that you can play them however you want,” says Creative Director Joel Bylos. “You can easily set up a server and play with your friends, and with our in-game controls you can simply adjust all aspects of your play experience to suit your playstyle whether that is turning off thirst, spawning a huge monster, or stop the day/night cycle. If you want to play all by yourself locally, you have access to the very same controls.

Conan Exiles will also allow users to setup their own dedicated servers allowing them full control of every possible parameter, which in turn will allow either the host or a group of friends playing together to tailor the game to their needs or playstyle. Besides hosting a dedicated server, they can also be rented from Funcom’s official partner PingPerfect. Hosting your own server can let you alter settings such as toggling PvP on or off, enabling and disabling sandstorms, activating god mode or altering the day/night cycle and the duration of world events. As the game develops, it would be expected that the server admin tool will have more and more features as content is added. Remembering that the game is only going to launch as early access on January 31st through Steam, it will be very likely that there will much more to come from Conan Exiles.
