Steep Open Beta Available Tomorrow

Ubisoft has announced that a Steep open beta will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC starting tomorrow.

The open beta kicks off on Friday November 18th and will run for several days, concluding on Monday November 21st. PC gamers are able to preload the beta on Uplay right now; however, gamers on PS4 and Xbox One will only be able to download the beta when it unlocks tomorrow.

Steep‘s open beta will allow players to venture to three of the game’s seven regions with Aravis, the Tyrol, and the Needles being available in the beta. The beta will also feature “dozens of challenges” as well as nine mountain stories which are narrative-based challenges. After completing a mountain story, players will unlock new gear that can be used to customise their in-game avatars.

“The Open Beta will allow players to discover the diversity of Steep’s world by exploring, riding and completing dozens of challenges through three of the seven regions composing Steep’s massive open world inspired from the Alps – the Aravis, the Tyrol and the Needles,” Ubisoft said in a blog post.

“Players will also find nine Mountain Stories – narrative-based challenges that will delve deeper into unique moments in the world of Steep – throughout their journey. Completing these challenges and Mountain Stories will also unlock new gear for players to customise their characters.”

As expected, your progress won’t carry over to the main game. However, it’s a good chance for anyone who’s unsure about purchasing Steep to give it a try before the game releases on December 2nd.
